What's New

Elk Lick Scout Reserve lies nestled in the foothills of the Allegheny Mountains near Smethport, PA. Situated on 985 acres of hardwood forest the camp is a virtual paradise for hiking, mountain biking and camping. The reserve has a modern swimming pool. Boating and canoeing are done on the small lake that is also part of the camp.
  • Camping with Special Needs

    • The Allegheny Highlands Council will make every reasonable effort to accommodate your dietary, physical or medical needs.

    Please complete a special needs application and return it to the council service center no later than June 1.

    That's right... Free!
    Effective immediately, boy scout troops from our council are welcome to weekend tent camp at Merz or Elk Lick for free, as long as you agree to do a 2 hour service project for the camp.
    You must submit the normal paperwork to reserve a site in advance so the ranger has lead time to contact you about what projects are on his list. Click Here for more information
